Global Procurement Manager (m/f) Head of Automation, Pumps & Piping

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Procurement is globally responsible for providing Covestro with materials and services on time, of the right quality and at the best total value. While maintaining a good understanding of the various business units within Covestro and working closely with our suppliers and stakeholders our task is to generate a competitive advantage. This is also supported by forecasting future spendings and making use of economic analysis methods such as cost-benefit analysis or cost-utility analysis.

In this position you are accountable for all aspects of a supply area of materials within the global procurement subcategory APP (Automation, Pumps, Piping). You drive the procurement category function, with the objective to support the Covestro Company strategy by developing and implementing the procurement strategies. As Head of Automation, Pumps & Piping (m/f) you will also be in charge for attracting, leading and developing the team members in line with the Covestro values and leadership principles.

• With a profound understanding of business strategies and its business needs you will identify procurement opportunities with focus on total cost of ownership, innovation, sustainability and reliability which are the fundamentals of our procurement strategy
• Furthermore, you will incorporate company’s goals on sustainability, reliability and innovation into sourcing strategies; by leading cross-functional sourcing teams with global participation of other sites
• Additionally, you will act as a supplier manager (m/f) for defined strategic and key suppliers and you will implement and manage supplier relationships and improve supplier performance
• Finally, you will lead high-value negotiations for global frame-contracts as well as individual demands and take responsibility for preparing tenders

• You hold a university degree, either in business administration or a technical discipline and several years of professional business experience within procurement or procurement related experience and knowledge of procurement business processes
• You have a profound knowledge and experience on supplier relationship management, stakeholder management, sourcing processes and sourcing strategies as well as risk management
• You have strong leadership capabilities thus you are able to build strong-identity teams that apply their diverse skills and perspectives to achieve common goals
• You have sound technical understanding as well as knowledge about chemical production and capital investment project
• You have affinity to see ahead to future possibilities and translating them into breakthrough strategies; even under conditions of scarcity or when the way forward is not clear, you are confident to make decisions
• The command of your German and English is excellent, both written and spoken and you bring strong negotiation skills
