Packaging Development Engineer EMEA (11881) Job Description
BC is looking for a packaging professional to execute cross-functional packaging projects and develop and execute programs to achieve agreed objectives within the Food Manufacturers and Gourmet Business Units.
Aim is to generate cost savings through smarter and optimized packaging solutions, as well as adding value through packaging innovation.
FUNCTION
- You will act as a central packaging expert; supporting packaging related activities for all BU’s and production sites in EMEA
- You will drive cost reduction through rationalization of packaging materials and supplier diversification across EMEA.
- You work very interactively with packaging purchasing and production sites across Europe; this for both packaging machinery as well as materials.
- You will liaise to external packaging experts and suppliers to generate cost-savings for the FM & Gourmet business.
- You support the planning and organization of plant tests and end-user tests relating to packaging.
- You will independently initiate and lead packaging projects
- You propose new systems, procedures and specifications in the own specific area of expertise in order to improve the department/function effectiveness
- You support QA packaging initiatives (traceability programs, supplier and co-packer approvals, material specifications set-up, …)
- You report to the Applied R&D Gourmet Manager EMEA.
Packaging Development Engineer EMEA (11881) Job Requirements
PROFILE
- Master degree in food- or packaging technical direction
- You are passionate about food and packaging solutions. You’re continuously attracted by and actively looking for new packaging concepts and materials.
- You love working in multi-functional teams (mainly marketing, R&D, QA, operations, sourcing), usually with several nationalities.
- You’re able to manage multiple, complex objectives autonomously to find the best solution for the challenge at hand.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of developing packaging concepts and project management in an industrial environment.
- Experience and knowledge of 2D and 3D visualization software packages
- Languages: English mandatory, Dutch and French are assets
- You are willing to travel 30%
