Our European headquarters is located near Brussels (Belgium) and is currently looking to hire a Junior Engineer Product Planning for Truck & Bus (TBR) tyres.

Job Scope & Purpose:
You will be part of the Commercial Product Planning and Engineering department of Bridgestone Europe. This department takes care of Product Planning for Trucks, Buses, Off the Road and Agricultural vehicles.

As part of the team, you will contribute to TBR sales by establishing and maintaining the firm market position of Bridgestone.

The team develops Original Equipment (OE) business strategy and elaborate long term product strategy. This is realized by grasping OEM’s future directions, their environmental requirements, EU legislations and business position.

The team also takes care of global coordination with Bridgestone Japan HQ and other business units, as well as OE export business in order to establish proper export recommendations and centralized technical homologation of tyres.

Your first year(s) will be dedicated to supportive tasks needed to maintain overall OE business in order to learn basic tyre technology, standard homologation processes, business sense and to gain maturity. You will gradually increase exposure to OE Manufacturers to become one of their main contacts.


Internal OE Support

• Coordinate/support OE Quality Assurance issues with Corporate Field Engineering and the Quality Assurance responsibles of the Bridgestone Technical Centers.
• Be the main point of contact with various functions ( Logistics & Supply Chain, Sales & Marketing, Central Warehouses, Bridgestone Germany)
• Data support and maintenance of the database
• Follow-up and pro-active involvement in OE pre-development activities
• Work Request coordination with the Technical Centers

• Secure successful homologation of tyres from OEM’s.

• Collect information from OEM’s regarding their strategy and directions.
• Communicate to the Business for Technology development activity.
• Coordinate with related functions to realize the target to gain share and profit.
• Follow up all OE development projects.

• Update a global recommendation list of export for each market on a global basis and communicate this with Bridgestone Japan and the other Strategic Business Units.
• Negotiate and finalize recommendation list by discussion and negotiation with each TBR OEM.

Junior Engineer Product Planning for Truck & Bus (TBR) tyres Job Requirements

Profile:

• Bachelor or Masters Degree in Mechanical/ automotive/ Industrial Business Engineering
• Experience in Automotive Supplier Industry is a plus
• Very good communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent in English
• Fluency in at least one of other European languages (German, Italian, French, Swedish)
• Commercial mind-set and advanced soft skills are as important as technical skills to perform the job.
• Prepared to have short business trips in Europe (up to 10-15 % max).
• International experience is a strong asset (student, project, internship, thesis)
