The role is part of a global team that focuses on the development and execution of growth strategies for one or more product applications. Our Marketing Intelligence Consultants work closely with our sales, engineering, and business development teams.

• Global Automotive & Heavy Vehicle
• Heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning (HVAC)
• Industrial variable speed pumps for advanced fluid management
The ideal candidate for this role is someone with an engineering background who understands the automotive industry and can flexibly manage both commercial and technical topics. Visiting customers regularly, Sensata Marketing Intelligence Consultants use their technical knowledge and strong business acumen to analyze market trends, technology drivers, customer requirements, and the competitive landscape, and use this information to build their growth strategies.
Primary responsibilities include:
· Perform market research to inform strategic growth initiatives
· Generate detailed business case presentations
· Drive short-term and long-term revenue growth: Identify, evaluate, and prioritize competitive, legislative, and technical discontinuities that present opportunities or threats; Build strategic, action-oriented business plans to grow share in existing applications; Identify paths to expand our addressable market (including new product development, technical partnerships, or M&A).
· Defend incumbent positions against competitive entry: Define and promote product value proposition with both customers and internal stakeholders; Manage product positioning in the market place, including rationalizing pricing strategy based on market conditions; Lead competitive benchmarking team activities, including both commercial and technical dimensions, and integrate benchmarking data into product and margin roadmaps; Drive for product enhancements to achieve sustained differentiation.

Communication Skills:
Ability to synthesize a coherent, meaningful, and compelling story from diverse and sometimes incomplete data sources (and communicate it effectively at all levels of the organization).
Technical Skills:
Able to develop deep subject matter expertise, and insight into current and future automotive systems, their controls, and enabling sensing solutions. (Prior related experience preferred.); Able to think strategically and translate strategies into actionable plans; Solid understanding of financial fundamentals.
Experience/Qualifications:
· B.S. degree in engineering or related field (MBA a plus)
· 2-5 years industrial experience (automotive industry preferred)
· Advanced Skills in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word
· Experience with Demantra, Oracle, IHS market database a plus
· Excellent oral and written communication skills - fluent in English (foreign languages a plus)
· Proven success delivering results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
· Proactive approach, and ability to work well under pressure.
