The software development engineer will be member of the team responsible for design and development of a novel series of applications for data acquisition. This team also takes responsibility for the integration of external data acquisition hardware into a series of other data acquisition products in the Test.Lab MarkII application family. In this area, focus is on acquisition reliability, real-time behavior and data transfer performance. Your team takes responsibility for an application range dealing with high-performance continuous data recording, but also provide integration support for other application families, dealing with structural and acoustic testing, environmental testing and testing on rotating structures.
Responsibilities: ¨ Responsibility for the design, development and maintenance of the integration of external data acquisition hardware ¨ Built integration facilities on a driver layer from LMS Instruments Breda ¨ the integration layer needs to suit an entire set of LMS Test data acquisition products ¨ Provides support for both single and distributed external hardware ¨ Integrate a wide variety of signal conditioning modules, and external data streams ¨ Guaranteed quality-of-service for data acquisition ¨ Focus on highest possible data throughput performance and reliability, with minimal system load ¨ Responsibility for the design, development and maintenance of a kernel application for Continuous Data Recording ¨ Design and development of an application to stream recorded application to disc ¨ Optimize design and development to make sure the application itself is no bottleneck in overall system performance ¨ Kernel application can be integrated in future general-purpose data acquisition applications
Educational Level: Degree in Informatics or Physics, Engineering Degree · Experience: · Proven experience in design and analysis skills · Affinity with external data acquisition systems · Knowledge about programming consequences for (near) real-time systems · Experience with low-level data handling in Windows O/S systems · Specific technical competencies: · Expertise in software design and architecture · Proven skills in C++, OO development methodology and UML · Knowledgeable about concepts of Windows Drivers, Services · Languages: good knowledge of English (both written and spoken), · Specific personal competencies: ·Analytical mind, solution oriented ·Stress tolerant ·Creative ·Quality-awareness ·Customer oriented attitude ·High interest in ICT evolution (literature, …) ·Team spirit and flexibility
