System Engineer Job Description

• As System Engineer you are responsible for managing and safeguarding the computer network in our emergency room, consisting of the infrastructure of servers, work stations, network devices and cabling.
• You are also responsible for the technical connections, for solving problems and interferences, and for helping internal users and customers of the network.
• Furthermore you ensure the implementation of the different soft- and hardware in the emergency room.
• You advise product development teams and users and adjust the choice and applications of technical solutions wherever necessary.
• You assist in writing scripts and procedures, actively follow up the configuration and architecture of information systems, and adjust them according to evolutions.
• At a later stage you take care of designing, installing and managing the network infrastructure at customers.
• You report to the Project Manager.

System Engineer Job Requirements

• As System Engineer you hold at least a Bachelor Informatics or you have obtained similar knowledge through experience.  Your professional experience amounts to minimum 3 years.
• Your major strengths are: process thinking, listening skills and a sound dose of assertiveness.
• You find problem solving challenging.  You look for solutions and, if necessary, mould them into processes or scripts.
• You are proactive and have a strong sense of responsibility.
• You fluently work with Microsoft Office tools.
• Knowledge of virtualisation and Cisco certification are to your advantage, but they are not a must.
• You fluently express yourself in French and English
