Food Technical Support Manager Job Description

As Food Technical Support   Manager you will be based in Offstein, Germany and be responsible for the overall BENEO-Group Technical Support in Eastern Europe. You will report to the Vice President BENEO Technology Center. Your main activities are as follows:

• Visit customers and investigate, analyze and solve their technical problems through project generation and follow-up as well as project coordination with BTC HQ in Offstein and Tienen, Belgium
• Prospect and identify the needs and opportunities at (potential) clients with regards to the BENEO ingredients and their applications
• Assure timely technical “help desk” support to the sales organization and the clients within your geographical area of responsibility. This includes a)trouble shooting (technical/formulation/processing); b) answering technical questions and providing technical information and c) update and adaptation of technical info to the regional specificities
• Lead technical discussions, prepare and give technical presentations as well as internal and external training programs
• Provide high quality and concise internal reporting and take appropriate initiatives for new product or application developments

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
This is a challenging and a truly very interesting, international function which expects you to combine excellent knowledge about food ingredients and their applications (e.g. bakery, confectionary, dairy markets), with outstanding communicative, cooperative and commercial skills.  We will therefore only consider highly experienced candidates with proven expertise in the food ingredients industry and who possess the following additional qualifications and experiences:

• Minimum a Master’s Degree in for instance food technology, biochemistry, nutrition, food science, medicine, life sciences, bio-engineering…
• Excellent spoken and written English is essential ; good verbal German a strong plus
• Possessing a “can do” mentality and a team approach is important
• Strong analytical capabilities and a highly developed problem solving attitude
• Willingness to travel regularly (25-30% of the time)
• Passionate about functional foods, food ingredients, health and the food industry in general
