The scientist will work on the preclinical evaluation of viral vaccine candidates and participate in cross functional teams to support the development of viral vaccine candidates to clinical testing. The main focus is the support of HIV and/or RSV viral vaccine candidates.
The role requires profound knowledge of immunological techniques such as virus neutralization assays, ELISA, FACS analysis, and other project specific readout systems to characterize the immune response to the vaccine candidates. Thorough knowledge of the immune response in the appropriate animal and in vivo disease models to assess potency and efficacy of vaccine candidates and scientific appreciation of the complexity of immunologic pathways and responses are required.
The scientist will be responsible for the coordination and execution of a research project in order to achieve the goals that are defined for the project. Good skills in documentation, evaluating and reporting results, and writing of protocols for ethical animal experiment approval, scientific documents/papers are required.
The scientist will work in a project team as the preclinical immunological lead. The team is comprised of researchers, clinical developers, analytical development, CMC, and project management. The role requires team player skills, self-motivation and initiative, project management skills, reliability, efficiency, flexibility and enthusiasm.
