Clinical Immunology is looking for a scientist with experience in the field of medical microbiology, immunology or virology. For this project the scientist will be responsible for vaccine immunogenicity testing for combination vaccines part of the expanded program on Immunization (EPI) e.g. Polio, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Bordetella pertussis, Haemophilus influenza B, Rotavirus and Streptococcus pneumonia. For this position we are seeking a candidate preferably with knowledge regarding vaccine immunogenicity of one the before mentioned pathogens.
The scientist will be responsible for assay development, validation and ultimately clinical trial sample analysis. The classical techniques to determine vaccine immunogenicity are serum virus neutralization, bactericidal (SBA), opsonophagocytotic (OPA) and (multiplex) ELISA assays.
The scientist will work in a multidisciplinary project team comprised of project management, preclinical development, analytical development, clinical development, quality assurance and global trial management. In the team the scientist is expected to communicate and achieve the defined project objectives. Besides having a background in bacteriology, good skills in communication, planning, documentation, evaluation and reporting of results are required. All activities will be performed in compliance with Good Clinical Laboratory Practices (GCLP) and Good laboratory practice (GLP).
