The USP department is responsible for the development of scalable, pharmaceutical-grade production processes for viral vaccines (e.g. Influenza, Polio, HIV) using mammalian cell lines as a production platform. Novel technologies are used to make sure that the processes are safe, reliable, scalable and cost-effective, so that the vaccines can be produced in large quantities at low costs.
The developed production processes are transferred into the GMP production facility for the production of tox and clinical batches and scaled-up for commercial production. All activities are performed in close collaboration with other departments.
We are looking for a Senior Technician who is motivated to work in a multidisciplinary and international environment. As a Senior Technician you are responsible for coordination, supervising and practical realization of experiments in bioreactors of different sizes and formats. Evaluation of the results is performed together with the scientist. You are a team player with excellent communicational skills. Beside project tasks, you are also responsible for part of the lab organization. You also coordinate and execute general lab tasks and continuous improvements. Most of the experiments are performed under BSL2 or BSL2+ conditions.
