Groupleader Mechanical Development Job Description
Responsibility for the development of new mechanical functions in Grooming products. This includes not only the operational deliverables, but also the necessary competence development within the Mechanical Development Group.
Your responsibilities:
- Hierarchical management of the team of ~12 mechanical engineers
- Responsibility for the mechanical quality of the results achieved by the Mechanical Development Group
- Manage the interface between the Mechanical Development Group and the pre-development and industrialization groups in the global supply chain
- Own the technical, competence and resource capacity roadmap of the group
- Continuously improvement of the development tools and mechanical development processes
- Resource management of the group
This position is technically and managerially challenging, and in one of the core and most successful product ranges of Philips Consumer Lifestyle.
In Drachten two innovation sites are responsible for the development of innovative consumer products. Innovation Personal Care (IPC) is responsible for the development and creation of shavers, grooming (trimmers), female beauty and vitalight products (Wake Up Light). Innovation Domestic Appliances (IDA) is responsible for the development of floorcare & beverage appliances.
The Mechanical Development Group is part of Innovation Team Grooming and is located in Drachten, The Netherlands. Together with your fellow group leaders, you will be part of the management team of the Innovation Team Grooming.
Groupleader Mechanical Development Job Requirements
We are looking for
To be successful in this challenging environment you bring:
- Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar
- Technical experienced (at least 7 years), preferably within a similar industry
- Proven mechanical engineering skills and familiarity with CAD systems
- Experience with mass produced (consumer) products and related industrialization methods.
- Competences in DfSS are a plus
- Experience as people manager through either a previous group leader position or through managing large (pre)development projects
- Ability to interact with a network of outsourcing partners and knowledge centers and to work in an international environment
