Senior Development Engineer Job Description
Translate complex technologies into advanced features for next generation male grooming products! Work on product development from immature functions into proven concepts, and integrate new-to-the-world concepts into products of the existing portfolio.
Your responsibilities:
As a Senior Development Engineer in the predevelopment team of Grooming your main responsibilities will be:
- Integrating new functions together with a multidisciplinary development team including specialists.
- Releasing concepts and modules according the Dfss methodology;
- Planning, realizing and steering the mechanical product development and manage the cross functional aspects as a technical project leader;
- Identifying gaps in competences and implementing improvements to bring the development approaches to a higher level.
The proven functions will be taken over by the development team that will realize the product together with our industrial designers, our manufacturing engineers (industrialization groups) and suppliers in Eastern Europe or in the Far East.
Senior Development Engineer Job Requirements
We are looking for
To be successful as a Senior Development Engineer, you need to have/are:
- Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering;
- Minimum 3 years of experience in the field of mechanical (consumer) product development or predevelopment;
- Experience in managing (international) multi-disciplinary projects, preferably in Business to Consumer;
- Familiar with state-of-the-art development techniques and CAD;
- Knowledge of the design of mechanical constructions in plastic and/or metal and preferably you are familiar with the manufacturability aspects (mould/tooling design), analysis (strength, stiffness) and drive mechanisms;
- Show drive and are quality driven. Experience with Design for Six Sigma is a plus;
- Determination in decision making and independence;
- Ambitious, a team player and you have good coordination, communication and coaching skills;
- Ability to work in an international environment.
