CAD Supervisor Job Description

Our client is a well established – almost 100 years old – company active worldwide and specialized in the production of industrial tools/solutions of various applications.

In order to take over the leadership of the computer aided design team (made of several designers and engineers), they’re looking for a CAD Supervisor to join their office in the Leuven area.

What are the main responsibilities of a CAD Supervisor:

• Leading, supervising, supporting and motivating a team of Cad designers & Cad design engineers
• Support in setting up the Cad activity planning. Maintain, follow-up and execute planned activities. Pro-active indicating issues disturbing planned activities and take initiative in proposing solutions or interventions to stay on track
• Develop, design, draw, control, document and maintain potentially complex systems following specific market and organizational requirements
• Ensure a high quality level and consistency of designs and drawings made by the team by initiating design & drafting procedures indicating how to work and what international standards to follow
• Follow-up, present, defend, clarify, listen and give support on designs & drawings released to production plants and/or sub-contractors

CAD Supervisor Job Requirements

What does Gentis require of a CAD Supervisor:

• Bachelor / Master in mechanics or equivalent through experience
• Minimum 10 years of experience in an industrial environment designing and developing products with 3 CAD systems, of which 2 years of Supervising experience
• Good communication skills in English verbal and in written; verbal skills in German & Dutch is an asset
• Strong knowledge of 3D modeling, design & drafting, preferably in Siemens NX
• Strong knowledge concerning CE regulations and Drafting standards and practices like functional dimensioning and tolerances
