GSMA –The Role - Working within a small team of experienced professionals, you will act as the focal point for the technical definition of smart card (UICC) management solutions. These solutions are required to evolve UICC technologies to meet the requirements of future telecommunications services, especially in the M2M market. Working in close cooperation with our members your responsibilities will include delivering the detailed technical specification within projects that define new smart card solutions. You will also provide supporting services based on your extensive UICC/Smart Card expertise.
Role and Responsibilities
- Creation and editing of detailed technical specifications for evolution of the UICC either as an individual activity or as technical lead of dispersed expert group
- Liaison with external standards organisations to lead on-going enhancement of technical standards
- Ownership of relationship with peer group of expertise within mobile operators and other partner companies

Smart Card Technical Specialist - Contract - based London/Europe Job Requirements
Criteria
Person Specification -
- You will have strong experience on UICC technology, preferably in a telecommunications environment including experience with at least one smart card supplier or mobile phone operator or operator supplier.
- You will have been involved in the development of technical specifications within Standardisation bodies such as 3GPP, ETSI or GlobalPlatform.
- You will have experience of using cryptographic and authentication algorithms to deliver secure smart card solutions.
- You will have a detailed technical knowledge of UICC card architecture and technology.
- You will have experience of working with international organisations, customers and partners on at least two continents.
- You will have a strong intellect, able to work with abstract concepts through to detailed solutions that are understandable, agreeable and implementable.
- You will be capable of earning (or already earned) peer respect as a thought leader in UICC technology.
- Engineering degree and/or similar development experience in the standard internet technology sets.
