Product Data Management Engineer Job Description
In recent years, Bugaboo’s creative entrepreneurial drive has resulted in a rapid global expansion. To further continue this growth, we are looking for a product data management engineer. As our PDM Engineer you will work in the innovation department at our headquarters in Amsterdam. The focus of this role is to provide maintenance and support for Bugaboo’s PDM System as well as control over the Data in the system. The time split between Data Management and Data Control is approximately 50/50.
The following tasks apply to the job
- Day to day Product Data Management of the Global Engineering organization in Amsterdam and China for thedevelopment of new products and sustaining products in the market;
- Facilitate the automation of processes like Engineering Changes (ECO) and revision control;
- Cooperate with other departments and work with external party in the development and implementation of engineering data management solutions throughout the company;
- Maintenance of workflows, forms, reports and database. Documentation of all application changes;
- Support to users, troubleshooting;
- Training, assess training needs and develop training plans. Maintain user guides and related documentation;
- Controlling data in the Vault, process monitoring, lost data recovery;
- Ensure data back-up and set up & maintain Product Data disaster recovery program;
- Control the release of Engineering Data and assure consistency to company standards;
- Traveling to China, when required, to work directly with colleagues in Product Engineering and other functions in Bugaboo’s operations.
Product Data Management Engineer Job Requirements
Requirements
- Educated in Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, Information Technology or related;
- Familiar with the development of industrial products, technical drawings, change- and revision management for tool making and mass production;
- Knowledge and hands-on experience on PDM /PLM tools administration and customization. Preferably as SolidWorks Enterprise PDM administrator in an international product engineering environment;
- Basic programming knowledge;
- Understanding of PDM domains:
- Security & administration.
- Product structure and configuration.
- BOM Management, BOM Configuration.
- Engineering Change Management.
- Data Migration.
- Basic knowledge of IT Systems and Network Configurations;
- Knowledge of documenting Standards, Work Instructions, Procedures, and Best Practices;
- Excellent problem solving skills, proud to be a creative, independent, accurate, flexible and enthusiastic professional;
- Good communication skills and fluent in English (written and spoken);
- Willing to travel frequently (approx.15%).
