Equipment Customer Service Engineer - ARB Job Description
The Equipment Customer Service (ECS) Engineer provides support for Intralox’ ARB ™ Equipment Line. At time of order, you are the link between the customer, sales, application engineering and operations, ensuring all customer specifications are understood and met. You have the ability to understand operational and commercial principles and then make fast and independent decisions within a clear set of principles. You make pro-active recommendations to customers, developing technical and commercial proposals/quotes for equipment. After equipment is shipped and installed, the ECS Engineer also serves as a troubleshooter and problem solver for any issues that arise. This position reports to the Equipment Commercial Operations Manager.
Main Job Responsibilities:
- Qualify and handle enquiries from Account Managers and Customer Service Representatives
- Translate application solutions from Sales Engineering into Intralox Equipment Product specifications
- Price equipment products and solutions and deliver clear & concise equipment proposals to customers
- Manage equipment orders with design engineers and project management, ensuring customer requirements are met
- Problem/Complaint Resolution: handle customer problems by finding causes and recommending solutions
- Pre- and post-sale technical support on equipment product line
Equipment Customer Service Engineer - ARB Job Requirements
Desired Qualifications/Education:
- Technical college degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or equivalent working experience
- Experience in a customer contact environment
- Fluent (spoken and written) German with a high level of English (Spoken and written)
- Additional languages, specifically Italian, Spanish & French are very beneficial and valuable
- Experience in mechanical drawing/design work, auto CAD design software skills
- Project management/ coordination experience
- Commercial affinity – ability and experience to communicate effectively and directly with customers
- Good questioning skills to understand customer needs and requirements
- Skills to make communication documents, both on order basis, but also templates, e.g. proposals, manuals, controls, installation guidelines
- Computer systems knowledge/skills (i.e. order entry, data bases, project management)
