Curtis Instruments is an international, highly successful high-tech company headquartered in the U.S. with worldwide marketing, development and production sites. The development site in the Solothurn area is responsible for the development of control systems for power wheelchairs and includes about 25 employees. The product provides the most handicapped patients to live a largest possible independent living. The latest technologies are used for this (from drive technology to telecommunications). For the development of a new generation of control we are looking for a younger, more team-oriented, initiative and implementation strong personality (f/m) as Embedded Software Engineer for Electric Vehicles
According to modern software development processes you work, in a team of software and hardware engineers, on microprocessor-based embedded real-time systems with RTOS in C/C++. The responsibility extends from the requirement engineering and architecture to design in UML to implementation, testing and commissioning. Specifications, product documentation, and test documents (TÜF FDA) you create in English. You work together with the other compartmentalized Curtis locations, particularly in the U.S..
You have a degree (bachelor or master) in technical computer science or electrical engineering with a postgraduate diploma in software. Ideally, you already have industry experience in software development. You have experience in C/C++, object-oriented design (OOD) in UML and design patterns (GoF) and with embedded real-time on a 32-bit microcontroller architecture (ARM Cortex-M3) operating systems. Knowledge of CAN bus and Bluetooth is an advantage. Interdisciplinary thinking, thoroughness, independence and high self-motivation and the urge for achievement, which go beyond location and cultural boundaries, characterize you. For collaboration with other development sites in the U.S. and the English documentation, you have mastered German as well as English.
