Safety Engineer Job Description

FUNCTION
 

• You  will work within the functional safety team and cross-functional teams on smart vehicle systems in order to develop safety concepts and validation steps
• You will collaborate in different research projects (concerning functional safety)
• You will improve the functional safety processes.
• You are delegated to develop system architecture in relation with the development process and methodology for embedded software for controllers used within mechatronic developments
• You take into account the requirements coming from functional safety standards
• The control of the driveline and features on the vehicle is realized with the developed products
• The deliverables and the documentation created are discussed with the coordinator for functional safety and cross-functional coordinators

Safety Engineer Job Requirements

PROFILE
 

• You have a Master degree in Mechatronics/Informatics or Electronics or equal through experience
• You have at least 5 years experience in a similar position
• You are fluent in English
• You have knowledge of functional safety, system and controls engineering
• You have knowledge about functional safety standards like IEC 61508, EN 13849, ISO 15998, ISO 25119, IEC 62061, ISO26262, … and other related standards for hardware and software development like CMMI, INCOSE,  …

• You have knowledge about quality management standards like ISO 9001, TS 16949, APQP, …
• You have knowledge of programming in C-language, UML and compilers
• You have knowledge about FMEA, problem solving tools, …
• You have knowledge about in-vehicle communications networks like CAN, Flexray, TTP, LIN, ..
• You have knowledge about Model Based Software Development and auto-code generation with Targetlink or Real-time Workshop Embedded Coder
• You have knowledge about the Mathworks tools like, Matlab-Simulink, Stateflow, …
• You have knowledge about AUTOSAR
