Over the years, the company has evolved into an organization, which in many ways has become the specialist in the field of mechanically, hydraulically and electronically controlled steering systems, axle suspensions and suspension systems for trucks and trailers. In the course of the further enterprise development and a succession we would like to gain you as technically well-versed and humanly appropriate management personality for a co-operation as Director Operations
Your key responsibilities
» Lead and represent the operations department with 14 direct reports to approx. 100 employees at two production sites in Western Europe
» Monitor and optimize the production process, production and quality management
» Ensure quality, quantity, efficiency and safety of the product/departments
» Initiating, facilitating and coaching changes [organizational/production]
» Develop and prepare regular reports and KPI's and pursue them
» Apply a strong functional lean management expertise in industrial engineering, production and supply chain management
» Identify proactive process improvements, promote and implement a continuously improvement
» Budgeting and commitment to operational business administration – economic management
» Supporting Managing Director in taking strategic decisions, including benchmarking
» Motivate, manage and supervise department heads of underlying divisions
Your skills & core competencies
» The target candidate has completed his engineering studies, if possible with the main emphasis on mechanical engineering, production or manufacturing technology or has an adequate qualification with target-oriented further training
» Good business knowledge and currently responsible for leading a technically specific area or business unit in the area of steering systems or at an automotive supplier in the Netherlands, Germany or in Portugal
» Experienced in managing relationships at a senior level and managing a diverse [in terms of skill base and experience] team of people
» Able to demonstrate the ability to contribute and successfully deliver against a business strategy
» Knows the common manufacturing procedures and he has implemented the development and arrangement of efficient production systems
» Demonstrated practical “hands-on”, "can-do” approach and ability to work efficiently with effective execution
» Excellent supervisory, project management, communication and well developed interpersonal skills
» Strong analytical, diagnostic and problem-solving skills
» Suitable candidates are confident with written and spoken Dutch, English and also in German
» Must be able to use MS Office applications and SAP ERP or similar to a competent standard
