Introduction
Customer Support (CS) is responsible for the delivery, installation, maintenance, and optimization of ASML IC manufacturing system at customer locations. Field Application Engineer (FAE) group belong to CS.
Job Mission
FAE’s work location is in an ASML office near a customer production factory.
Currently FAE is working at Yokkaichi(Mie), Saijo(Hiroshima), Isahaya(Nagasaki) and Tsuruoka(Yamagata). Customer in Uozu(Toyama), Kumamoto and other locations are supported remotely. FAE in Yokkaichi report to the group leader in Yokkaichi.
Job Description
- Support customers to solve several issues in semiconductor manufacturing process.
- Support customers to optimize usage of ASML system. (for better product-yield and productivity)
- Support application projects (new product demonstration, evaluation, development).
- Support the introduction of new ASML technology at the customer location.
- Provide input to improve ASML products and to develop new functionalities
Education
-Associate degree, Bachelor, Master’s, or PhD degree in: Physics, Physical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related disciplines.
- Native level of Japanese.
- Basic knowledge of English.
Experience
Not required. (better if any experience with semiconductor business, especially in lithography process)

- Customer communication and interfacing skills. (with Japanese customer)
- Able to handle cultural differences between countries.
- Ability to make clear summaries of issues and activities.
- Initiative and Ownership.

Typical activities:
- Design and/or execute experiments.
- Analyze data from system and/or from customer.
- Calls and meetings with customers.
- Discuss issue with colleagues in other group.
- Escalate issue to headquarter. (if issue can’t be solved within Japan)
- Provide technical input to marketing, and sales team.
- Make presentation and report to customer.
Other information
New-hire will take several months of training. (both formal training courses and on-the-job assignments)
- A flexible attitude is required towards domestic and foreign travel.
- There is possibility of relocation to other customer site depending on business demand
and forecast.
