Vanderlande – challenges in motion
The Project Manager Product Relocation is responsible to project manage the relocation projects of Vanderlande products from one supply chain to another based on the product relocation strategy set by Global Supply Chain’s management and agreed with the Vanderlande Board. The reasoning to relocate a product is often driven by the desire to either increase Vanderlande’s global supply capacity or to better support our projects and customers with shorter lead-times through local production.
Global Supply Chain
Vanderlande’s Global Supply Chain department is responsible for the manufacturing and supply of Vanderlande proprietary products to our customer sites worldwide. Global Supply Chain (GSC) is divided in three separate organizational entities; Supply Chain Center North America, Supply Chain Center Europe, and Supply Chain Center Asia Pacific. The Supply Chain Centers are supported by two global supply chain departments; Global Sourcing and Supply Chain Development. The Project Manager Product Relocation reports to the Manager of Supply Chain Development.
Core Tasks
In this role, it is your responsibility to deliver a smooth running multi-tier supply chain to the local Supply Chain Centers. This supply chain must meet the targets set in the business case and project plan and your main focus areas are product cost, quality assurance, supply lead-time and supply capacity.You will start your project with writing a high-level Project Plan including high level scope, planning, deliverables or targets, required project team and an updated business case of cost and benefits.
Once your project plan is approved you become responsible to manage your team through the different stages of the relocation project and doing so within the agreed planning and budget constraints.Depending on the characteristics of the project your team consists of representatives from Research & Development, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Sourcing, Cost Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers.
You yourself represent the supply chain management function within the team.In addition to project managing product relocations you will also represent Global Supply Chain in multi-disciplinary Product Teams chaired by Vanderlande’s Product Management.
Your profile
• Bacherlor or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering.
• Proven experience in successfully managing projects in an international and technical environment.
• Experience in Supply Chain Management, Sourcing or Quality Assurance is preferred.
• A natural leader with excellent communication, influencing and motivational skills.
• A strong focus on the overall project status but with a desire and interest in knowing the details.
• A team player with good communication, negotiation and social skills that can influence without power.
• Assertive, result-oriented, and pro-active.
