PLC & Robotics Specialist Job Description
You will act as group technical leader, working together with the local Manufacturing team, International Manufacturing Engineers and equipment suppliers, to define and agree the best practices, which will generate the standard specifications for PLC, Robotics and Human Machine Interface (HMI).
You will report directly to our Group Director Manufacturing Engineering Standardization.
Your main tasks and responsibilities are:
- Responsible for global PLC, Robotics and HMI standardization of production lines controls;
- Determine with the MES and LabVIEW team members, the equipment controls architecture on different levels;
- Collect the best practice specifications for PLC, Robotics and HMI;
- Information flows, system requirements, preferred components and EPLAN;
- Generate software and hardware standard architecture for PLC, Robotics, HMI;
- Standardize programming structure and controls systems involving PLC’s, Robotics and HMI;
- Together with the regional partners define and agree on the global standards for PLC, Robotics and HMI based on specific and agreed criteria’s;
- Create the PLC, Robotics and HMI Specifications, describing the requirements based on agreed standards, for Inalfa plants Manufacturing Engineers and equipment suppliers;
- Follow-up and support the global use of the standards on different international locations together with global equipment suppliers and regional AME’s;
- Track (functionally) regional PLC and Robotics projects, escalate where required, and insure lessons learned are shared across regions.

PLC & Robotics Specialist Job Requirements
What do we expect from you?
- You have a finished Bachelor or Master degree in Electrical Engineering/Software/Mechatronics or other relevant;
- Knowledge of state of art machine controls systems (PLC, Data acquisitions systems), including wiring schematics, electrical drawings, and circuits with at least 5 years’ experience;
- Experience in programming and troubleshooting problems with Fanuc and ABB robots;
- Experience in programming Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC’s;
- Knowledge of assembly processes and Lean production systems;
- Extensive experience with implementing and executing Launches of new Productions systems in a technical environment
- Strong team work skills, with an ability to motivate others, operating in a multi-function environment to collectively improve operations, resolve related issues and a flexible approach to achieve business goals;
- A flexible approach in order to achieve business goals;
- Excellent communication skills in English;
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills to resolve operational issues related to automation
- International travel to vendors and Inalfa production sites is required.
