Shell is a global group of energy and petrochemical companies.
Our operations are divided into four businesses: Upstream, Integrated Gas and New Energies, Downstream, and Projects & Technology.
In Upstream we focus on exploration for new liquids and natural gas reserves and on developing major new projects where our technology and know-how add value for resource holders.
In Integrated Gas and New Energies, we focus on liquefying natural gas (LNG) and converting gas to liquids (GTL) so that it can be safely stored and shipped to markets around the world. The New Energies business has been established to explore and invest in new low-carbon opportunities.
In Downstream, we focus on turning crude oil into a range of refined products, which are moved and marketed around the world for domestic, industrial and transport use. In addition, we produce and sell petrochemicals for industrial use worldwide. Shell’s oil sands mining activities in North America are also part of the Downstream organisation.
Our Projects & Technology business is responsible for delivering new development projects and the research and development that leads to innovative and low-cost investments for the future.

This is just the start. Over time you can shape and grow your role and develop your skills in Energy Transition technology. With passion to learn, you could develop into an electrical engineering professional with highly marketable specialist knowledge the integration of wind turbine generators, grid code compliance, power quality management, scale up and cost reduction challenges.
Ideally, you’ll be based in The Hague, but we work across Europe, so you could also join us in Hamburg or London.
About the team
Our New Energies/Wind team is a small team that looks to be competitive in a market very different to traditional oil and gas. You’ll join us at a time when the wind industry is maturing, governments are deciding policy and the competitive landscape is opening up. Your personal skills will help you to thrive. You’ll need a proven ability to build professional networks, both internally and externally, to make sure that our plans incorporate best practice when it comes to the electrical engineering aspects of power systems and renewable energy. You’re a positive team player and a confident communicator – someone who can translate technical information clearly for non-technical colleagues.
