Description of the department
The assignment will be executed at the Quality Assurance department of Vanderlande. The mission of this department is to deliver all supplied equipment, First Time Right on site.
To pursue this mission, the team of 11 FTE has a strong focus to achieve a mature product sourced at a mature supply chain. This maturity consists of establishing a manufacturable and reproducable product at a predictable supply chain.
The department is supporting R&D by industrializing new products in the supply chain. The quality level of the supplier is managed by performing audits, product quality inspections and consulting in improvements. To make a strategic quality assurance plan with the right decisions, the quality performance is measured and analyzed.
The department has to act on trends in this data to set priorities, solve structural issues and prevent issues to achieve First Time Right on Site.
Description of the assignment
Also at Vanderlande, the projects that deliver our systems to our customers, are not achieving a desired 100% yield. The goal is to deliver our systems to the customer, First Time Right and On Time. During project execution, extra costs are made when this goal is not achieved. Costs due to required rework or extra material will have a negative effect on the project’s yield.
These costs are a part of the Costs of Poor Quality (COPQ) within the organization.Every day, the Quality Assurance department is working to prevent COPQ and to achieve First Time Right on site. The focus is the manufacturing and delivery of our equipment to our customer’s site.
The COPQ is a Key Performance Indicator of the work the Quality Assurance department delivers.The goal of this assignment is to provide insight in the direct COPQ within Vanderlande. The focus will be the execution of projects. At the end of the assignment, a method to measure and report the COPQ should be delivered.
Your tasks / responsibilities
• Identify and investigate sources of COPQ.
• Make these sources measurable.
• Create a method to automatically report COPQ within the operations of Vanderlande.
• Ensure the COPQ reports are available and useable for the stakeholders.
