This is the Role
As Business Development Manager at Eastman Chemical you will be responsible for translating global business strategy to regional opportunities. As the connection between our global vision and the regional demanding you will be aligning customer needs to the future growth and specialization of Eastman Chemical.
This role is focused on Automotive Coatings, where we drive compliance and performance by improving the application, productivity, and performance of automotive coatings. Your focus will be on Original Equipment manufacturers (OEM’s)and formulators where you will be identifying key influencers across the sales cycle and will be listing them as prospects. Because you know what you are talking about technically you are well-known in the industry and a welcome guest at our (new and existing) client’s improvement meetings. A great chance to significantly influence how the automotive market is moving!
Your focus will be building new business with one of our brand-new product inventions called Eastman tetra shield. A durable polyester resin system that improves the performance of both clearcoats and pigmented topcoats.
Please note that extensive travelling (40-60 %) mainly within your region and to our Headquarters in the US will be necessary.

You are a versatile self-starter and able to manage and engage team members and influence clients from distance. You quickly build credible and value-creating business relationships using your consultative skills and active listening. You have leveraged these capabilities in leading successful change.
This is what you bring
Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Chemistry, or Engineering. MBA preferred;
Minimum of 10 years industry experience such as selling or supporting products to automotive and industrial OEM’s as a tier 1 or tier 2 supplier or working in a leadership role within an automotive OEM. Preferably, five years of experience with paint and coating related products with a strong understanding of paint and coating technology;
Fluency and excellent written skills in English. German or French proficiency would provide additional benefit.
