Junior App/ Web Developer Job Description

At Bosch Thermotechniek in Deventer we are developing high yield technology – for gas heating, solar technology and hot water systems. In close collaboration with universities, research institutes and specialized industries we provide heating technology for the future. Our room temperature controllers are remotely controlled through our apps with an advanced back end-system.

To continue our journey into the future we need clever app-developers to envision the needs of our customers and translate their wishes into our products. There still is a lot of innovation possible within our technologies. We engineer internationally for Robert Bosch worldwide which makes our world dynamic and challenging. Our work definitely does not solely consist of bug fixing .

Within Bosch Thermotechniek Deventer we are working with a versatile team of 40 software engineers. Currently, we are offering the opportunity to educate or retrain creative and studious engineers to fully-fledged app-developers. Within this track you will receive a multidisciplinary training and you will be put together with an enthusiastic colleague who will show you the ropes. Envision: in the end your product will be used by thousands of European households!

Moreover, you will contribute to a sustainable world, because we are using our heating systems more and more efficiently.

In this position your daily tasks will consist of:

• Developing and optimizing application software for IOS and Android;
  You are involved in the whole development cycle from idea to release, hence the creation of a concept, graphical design and the actual functioning of the app.
• Nationally and internationally communicating with other departments;
• Identifying technical bottlenecks and creating the best solutions;
• Participating in daily scrum meetings.

Junior App/ Web Developer Job Requirements

Your profile
Proactive, conscientious and communicating well are traits that are valued in this position. Furthermore, we would like to see:

• A Bachelor or Master degree in e.g. IT, Electrical Engineering OR another education combined with proven app-experience/ affinity;
• Knowledge of IOS and Android; knowledge of the Windows Phone is nice to have.
• Basic knowledge of programming and programming languages such as Java, C, objective-C/X-code, C#;
• Familiar with other object oriented languages such as C++ ;
• Basic knowledge of  HTML, HTML5, PhP, MySQL, Java Script, ASP.net, AJAX;
• Familiar with modern message standards on the internet;
• Interested in web service development;
• Fluent in English and Dutch.
