What can you expect in the Software Engineer position?

Position Responsibilities:

• Low level embedded software architecture definition and design for microcontrollers in custom engine control units
• Definition of requirements, system architecture design, software and hardware implementations
• Development of PC based application software (C#, .net)
• Development and enhancement of the controller hardware interfaces and communications libraries, to suit project individual applications
• Root cause analysis, validation and implementation of solutions
• Create and execute test plans derived from requirements for both hardware and software
• Use our customers quality system processes to effect the management of low level software of our customers engine controller family
• Travel may be required to work on site with specific applications

Software Engineer Job Requirements

What background will make you successful?

Required:

• A Degree in Electrical, Software or Mechatronic Engineering
• At least 3 years of relevant industry experience in low level embedded software development for microcontrollers (Infineon, Freescale etc.)
• Proficient in C, C++, Assembly language
• Proficient in C#, .net
• Experience in proactively defining electrical hardware and software requirements at all stages of a product’s lifecycle
• Proven PCB hardware testing and debugging abilities
• The ability to provide accurate effort estimates on tasks to help time manage projects and understand resource concerns
• Demonstrate strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
• Be a team player

• Understanding of automotive controls hardware (sensors, harnesses actuators, and electronic control units)
• Familiar with Matlab, Simulink and Stateflow tools
• Experience working to software quality systems such as SPICE and ISO26262
• Experience with task management and change management tools such as JIRA and SVN
