An exciting opportunity has arisen for a resourceful Planning Engineer to join our Project Planning & Cost Control Department. Based in Delft, the Netherlands, the successful candidate will join a large and highly experienced team and will gain exposure to the full life cycle of complex offshore projects from inception through to completion. 

As Planning Engineer you will need to have a strong understanding of planning techniques, experience in using project management software and a good knowledge of engineering. This is a great opportunity for an ambitious Planning Engineer to further develop their career within a global player in the offshore pipelay and heavy lift industry.
Responsibilities

  • Co-ordinate project planning activities for allocated projects
  • Translate proposal schedules into project schedules 
  • Initiate onshore scope planning and co-ordinate input from various disciplines, offices and subcontractors 
  • Create deliverables register and document route plan in conjunction with disciplines 
  • Issue initial schedule(s) internally for review and/or approval
  • Maintain schedules, provide forecasts and produce progress reports for project team, management and client
  • Provide input to seasonal schedule in co-ordination with the Department Head Project Control 
  • Create project scenarios, separate offshore schedules and mobilisation plans 
  • Set up and progress CAPEX and R&M (port call, docking) schedules
  • A versatile job with tasks varying from large scale events to small and detailed activities

Planning Engineer Job Requirements

Requirements

  • Degree-educated in Mechanical Engineering or similar
  • Minimum 3 years’ project planning experience within offshore/marine environment
  • Experience with logistic or planning software development 
  • Track record working with AMS Real Time Projects, Primavera P3, P6 and/or MS Project • Good knowledge of planning and scheduling techniques 
  • Excellent command of Office tools, especially Power Point and Excel
  • Highly organised with a hands-on, no-nonsense mentality and an ability to work on own initiative
  • Good command of the English language, both written and spoken 
  • Willingness to travel and work occasional weekends
