n exciting opportunity has arisen for an Equipment Engineer who will work within the Pipeline Production Department (PPD). The department is responsible for the preparation of all offshore welding, non-destructive testing (NDT) and coating.

Responsibilities
The Equipment Engineer must timely and economically prepare and support the equipment related activities for the pipe lay vessels, ensuring the project requirements are complied with. The Equipment Engineer provides specialist know-how and bears responsibility for the coordination of equipment related activities such as logistics, maintenance, mobilisation, Pre-Qualification Trials and Research & Development. As such, the equipment engineer will liaise with the vessel(s), the yards(s), subcontractors, suppliers and the relevant departments such as project management, the technical department and innovations. Furthermore, the equipment engineer is responsible for translating vessel feedback into tangible equipment upgrades.

Requirements

  • Monitor production equipment both on- and offshore.
  • Efficient planning and allocation of equipment for qualifications and projects.
  • Ensure Technical Department's filing system is kept up to date with equipment developments and modifications.
  • Ensure adequate support and knowledge is made available for implementation of new and existing equipment on board the vessels, by means of training, manuals, and procedures.
  • Provide input for and check drawings and documentation that ensure operational station layout can be achieved with the equipment setups required. 
  • Evaluate, check and approve deliverables of different parties, this includes but is not limited to: Bases of Design, related test reports, drawings, requisitions, commissioning reports and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) reports.
  • Set up, plan and manage production equipment development/expansion projects when necessary, based on future projects and/or qualification trials.
  • Monitor progress of all involved parties during a development/expansion project, making sure all goes according to schedule.
  • Report to Unit Head Equipment regarding status of newly built equipment, problems foreseen or encountered on development/expansion projects and possible equipment improvements in a broad sense.
  • Provide input for and check documents on production equipment related test or trials performed on the Training Centre.
