Lead Hardware Engineer in Autonomous Driving (m/f) Job Description

Responsibilities:

The BMW Group is taking the lead in highly automated and fully automated driving.

• We are offering an interesting position as Lead Hardware Engineer (f/m) in the field of autonomous driving.
• Your challenge will be to meet developmental objectives for hardware, functional safety and system functions of the integration platform, as well as correct interaction between the interfaces in the system, with the sensor system and with the vehicle wiring system.
• You will lead a team of top experts and will be responsible for managing the developmental results in terms of their function, schedule and quality. You will get the chance to act independently in a highly complex project environment with many interface partners within BMW Group, as well as with international suppliers and cooperation partners.
• Your varied range of tasks will be rounded off by representing the project to overall project management and within the corresponding vehicle projects.

Lead Hardware Engineer in Autonomous Driving (m/f) Job Requirements

You should have:

• University degree in electrical engineering, computer science or a comparable course of study.
• Expert knowledge of automotive control unit development.
• In-depth professional experience in embedded software development.
• Experience leading specialist and/or expert teams as well as project management experience with external suppliers.
• Specialist knowledge of multi-core or multiprocessor architectures.
• Knowledge of functional safety.
• Familiarity with use of real-time operational systems would be an advantage.
• Business-fluent English, German would be an advantage.
• Assertiveness, initiative and sense of responsibility.
• Willingness to travel.
