R&D Scientist Metal Filtration Job Description
For the R&D Foundry business we have a unique position available as R&D Scientist Metal Filtration spending the first 6 months in Tamworth (UK) and after in Enschede (The Netherlands).
Responsibilities:
- You will be working within the global R&D team in a small group of R&D Scientists, Technicians and Engineers specialized on Filtration. Having a leading role in the team you will contribute to the successful implementation of R&D Projects by providing both a theoretical and practical contribution to the process.
- As a scientist you are responsible for the preparation of test samples, performing the required test on products and raw materials and you make sure that projects are concluded on time. Besides you are able to create a transfer of knowledge with our internal and external partners and you provide guidance to the R&D filtration team for continuous improvement of our product.
- This function combines a hands-on approach with a strong theoretical knowledge of the materials and foundry processes.
Key activities also include:- Research and Development linked to the Metal Filtration activities;
- Material and process research linked to global metal filtration;
- Coordination and managing global R&D projects in Enschede.
R&D Scientist Metal Filtration Job Requirements
We require:
- Minimum Master or equivalent degree in Chemistry, Materials Science or other relevant discipline.
- PhD is an advantage;
- Minimum 5 years post graduate experience in a practical R&D environment;
- Significant knowledge in chemistry and material science;
- Analytical knowledge and practicable experience in laboratory research environment.
- Preferably knowledge of refractory engineering, ceramic or polymer technology;
- Experience of delivering R&D objectives against deadlines and cost budgets. Ability to work as a member of the larger European and international R&D team;
- Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (written and spoken), good written and spoken German or Dutch is a considerable benefit;
- Independent, flexible on travelling and a real team player.
