RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
• Software design and development for precise orbit determination of the Galileo satellite system
• Algorithms development for precise Galileo orbit modelling
• Processing of GNSS/Galileo-specific observation data types, and related software developments
• Being involved in the operations of the Galileo services at ESOC (data retrieval and processing, routine creation and dissemination of Galileo products)
• Real-Time processing of Galileo products
• In addition, experience in EGNOS would be desirable
• Work in international teams
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
• Completed university degree in mathematics, physics, geodesy, engineering or equivalent with high grades
• A good working knowledge of English
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
• In-depth familiarity with GNSS applications, data types, data processing and algorithms
• In-depth familiarity in GNSS-related coordinate systems
• In-depth familiarity with applied mathematics and statistics relevant for precise orbit modelling and determination
• Sound knowledge of physics, especially mechanics and GNSS signal processing
• High sense of operational responsibility
• The capability to study independently complex and novel topics and to rapidly prototype S/W for study purposes must be proven
• Software development in FORTRAN and C++ under LINUX and Sun/Solaris
• Excellent technical problem analysis and solving abilities
• Very good communication and technical presentation skills
• Ability to present work results at international conferences and in scientific magazines
DESIRABLE SKILLS
• C, C++, MATLAB/SIMULINK, shell scripting
• Familiarity with EGNOS
• Previous operational experience
• Experience in Real-Time processing
• Experience in documentation and configuration management
