ASML is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chip-making equipment.
Our vision is to enable affordable microelectronics that improve the quality of life.
To achieve this, our mission is to invent, develop, manufacture and service advanced technology for high-tech lithography, metrology and software solutions for the semiconductor industry.
ASML's guiding principle is continuing Moore's Law towards ever smaller, cheaper, more powerful and energy-efficient semiconductors. This results in increasingly powerful and capable electronics that enable the world to progress within a multitude of fields, including healthcare, technology, communications, energy, mobility, and entertainment.
This position is within the Software Metrology Department, which is a part of the Sector Development and Engineering.
ASML's Software Metrology department provides the software solutions that realize the control accuracy and sub-nm calibration precision of our systems. As Project Leader Metrology Software Architure, your mission is to develop the vision and roadmap for the Software Architecture that will enable these software solutions for the next decade, and to drive its implementation. In combination with impressive hardware and mechatronics solutions, ASML's lithography systems are controlled by a distributed software stack of over 40 million lines of code in total. The metrology software at the heart of this system is responsible for (1) control sequences for measuring and exposing the silicon wafers; and (2) the system calibration software needed to deliver ever tighter (sub-nanometer) accuracy at increasing productivity.
Within the Metrology Software Department, we are reshaping our software architecture to prepare ourselves for a next decade of efficiently delivering metrology software solutions. We do this by introducing a scalable architecture and way of working based on modularity and separation of concerns in combination with Model Driven Engineering principles and technologies. An enormous challenge in this overall goal is that the change we want to make has to be implemented in an existing code base which must keep running! This means that a solid, pragmatic migration strategy with careful risk mitigation and stakeholder management is essential.
It is your job to lead further development of the Software Architecture roadmap and to lead and drive its realization. If you can picture yourself doing this, together with teams of passionate professionals of software architects and engineers, you may be a perfect fit.
