As a Technical Application Manager you will have a key role for creating technical designs for functional and non-functional changes of applications. You will be the linking pin, from a technical perspective, between the internal and external infrastructure, application service providers and the IT Competence Centers within projects and changes.
Job Description
As a Technical Application Manager you own the system landscape from a technical point of view. You drive optimization and standardization by designing the connection between application and system landscape and work with internal and external service providers to realize these goals.
You will manage external consultants to make sure changes and upgrades are delivered on time. Besides this you will also be hands-on yourself by testing, analyzing and advising to optimize the working of applications.
One of the first assignments you will be responsible for implementing a disaster recovery scenarios for various applications. Once a year you perform an integral disaster recovery test where you will be the owner of.
Some of the responsibilities you will be facing are:
Work closely with infrastructure and application service providers on designs of new capabilities that adhere to technology and system architectural guidelines;
Draft and review high level technical design documents. Own the high level design of the infrastructure hosting the application;
Take the lead in proposing and executing solutions for structural problems in the application portfolio related to performance and application stabilization;
Promote standardization and re-use of technical application solutions;
Ensure smart integration of application frameworks with the application servers;
Help to align and facilitate technical strategy with business objectives;
Identify opportunities to modify or update the technical architecture optimizing trade-offs between life-cycles of individual applications and infrastructure components;
Analyze the current technical application layer setup to detect critical deficiencies and recommends solutions for improvement;
Create a high-level strategy and design view of the set of products and technologies in the infrastructure portfolio;
Within projects, responsible for the delivery of infrastructure solutions towards the Competence Centers.
Within operations & Infrastructure, engage external infrastructure service providers and internal infrastructure experts to assure and organize the delivery of those solutions;
Create, deploy and implement disaster recovery scenarios to maximize the availability of our services;
Fill in and drive the process of Continuity Management.
Context of the position
You will be reporting to the Manager Application Support. Within projects, functional reporting line to the Project Lead.

Education
Master's degree preferable Computer Science.
Experience
At least 7 years of experience as Technical Application Manager or in a comparable job;
Extensive knowledge of technical setup of applications, database systems and IT infrastructure in a brought sense is a must;
Experience with Teamcenter and/or NX is a strong pre;
Experience with disaster recovery / continuity management is a strong pre;
Familiar with multiple operating systems;
Experience in a high-tech company is a plus.
