You maintain and modify the implementation of the ASML engineering IT infrastructure, in co-operation with the internal customer and Solution Team System Architect. Focus on Electrical Engineering and Multi-disciplinary Engineering processes.

Job Description
As a Unix/Linux Infra Engineer you will take ownership of the IT engineering hardware infrastructure as provided to the internal customer.  The engineering environment is used by more than 500 development engineers. You will participate as a technical expert in running projects, define and implement improvement proposals that focus on IT system performance and engineering process efficiency for end-users. You have a big drive towards internal and external partners for implementation of improvements.Besides projects you will give support in solving difficult 3rd line incidents related to the hardware infrastructure.

As Unix/Linux Infra Engineer you are a strong partner in discussions with solution team system architects and other stakeholders within the internal customer departments.Are you the specialist who wants to investigate, define and implement the solutions?

Context of the position
The IT division supports information management, infrastructure and key business processes across ASML. The ICT infrastructure, hardware and applications are absolutely mission-critical for almost all ASML's internal and external activities.A sub-department within the IT organization is IT CCP (Competence Center Product); this department is responsible for the infrastructure and tooling for ASML's development organization.
Within IT CCP three development disciplines are represented: mechanical, electrical and software engineering. The Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer will be active in the electrical engineering group.

The Unix/Linux Infrastructure Engineer will be part of the Architecture team which is part of the electrical engineering group (appr.15 fte). This group is responsible for the (electrical and multidisciplinary) engineering environment for ASML's product lines and maintains supports and further develops this environment.

Education
Bachelor level or equivalent in IT and / or engineering

Experience

• Unix / Linux Infrastructure experience is a must;
• 5 years of relevant and proven experience in large technical complicated development environments;
• Thorough understanding and practical experience with: 
• o Development environments;
• o Unix/Linux Hardware infrastructure;
• o Multiple virtualizations techniques.
• Knowledge of Engineering Applications (Electrical, FEM, CFD) is a pre;
• Interest in High Performance Computing is a pre;

• Highly motivated team player;
• Shows initiative and problem solving attitude;
• Vision and opinion;
• Independent, accurate, systematic approach, problem solving;
• Pragmatic, practical, flexible and committed to quality.
