Certification Engineer for Product Safety
Ensuring electrical and mechanical safety, and managing relations with certification agencies worldwide
 
Your challenge
You support product development projects by providing technical advice on electrical and mechanical safety and take of preparing product assessments for certifications and safety approvals. Moreover you coordinate and maintain relations with external certification agencies worldwide. 

You translate international product safety legislation into internal standards and working methods for Océ products.  You make sure internal standards are applied to design of Océ future products, and you manage the process of safety certifications. To facilitate this process you guide and support R&D (Research & Development) projects with your expert knowledge on required steps and international product safety and EMC standards by providing clear advices and sharp assessments in time.

You take care of preparing assessments, maintaining contacts with various certification agencies worldwide ensuring certified products and global market access. Moreover you make sure appropriate product certificates and underlying documentation are shared with the Canon Sales Organizations. This means you are also responsible for the maintenance of safety certifications for current products. 

Certification Engineer for Product Safety Job Requirements

Who are we looking for?

• You have an academic level of working and thinking. Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in electrical engineering
• About 10 years of working experience in product development in a comparable role or as f.e. designer, architect in a high tech organization.
• Proven experience with product safety (testing) is required; experience with EMC standards is preferred
• Strong in managing processes, having  an overview and the ability to organize timely certification of products during product lifecycles
• You are a team player with strong advising and assessment skills, and you have a drive for high quality results
• Strong communications skills – verbal and written – in English. You are able to convince stakeholders of the importance of safety certificates. Profound knowledge of Dutch is a plus
• Eligible to work in the Netherlands
