ASML is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of chip-making equipment.
Our vision is to enable affordable microelectronics that improve the quality of life.
To achieve this, our mission is to invent, develop, manufacture and service advanced technology for high-tech lithography, metrology and software solutions for the semiconductor industry.
ASML's guiding principle is continuing Moore's Law towards ever smaller, cheaper, more powerful and energy-efficient semiconductors. This results in increasingly powerful and capable electronics that enable the world to progress within a multitude of fields, including healthcare, technology, communications, energy, mobility, and entertainment.
The product architect translates the system requirements into a (cross-platform) design, largely focused on software aspects.
Job Description
As a product architect, you take ownership of the top level product design. You investigate new requirements and provide architectural implementation scenarios. This results in a Software Impact Analysis (SIA) at the system level. The scenarios are aligned with the System Engineer, Software Architects and Functional Cluster Architects. You guide the organization towards selecting the best scenario. You provide test/verification requirements. During implementation, you check consistency with the chosen scenario and assess changes that have to be made.
Context of the position
ASML's main product is the wafer scanner, a complex high precision machine used by our customers in the semiconductor industry to create Integrated Circuits. Within ASML, the Business Line “Applications” creates a new type of products that help our customers to improve the quality of their designs and their manufacturing process. The Applications products measure deficiencies in the customer's process and use ASML's high precision wafer scanners to correct them. They are critical elements in the semiconductor manufacturing process. The products are created by a team of several hundred developers. The Applications business line is very successful, is growing and is generating a significant part of ASML's revenue. The YieldStar is a complex mechatronic system with the capability to measure wafers with a high speed and high accuracy. You report to the Group Lead of the D&E Applications Product Architecture and Systems Interoperability group (PASI).
Masters' degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or Information Technology.
Experience
You have experience as a software architect or product architect in a multi-disciplinary environment. Experience in IC manufacturing is a strong preference. You have, or are motivated to acquire, experience in one or more ASML specific domains like Overlay, Imaging, CD, Focus, Productivity.
Personal skills
