Job description
The Verification & Validation lead (V&V lead) defines and manages all integration, verification, validation & release activities in a system level project, achieving full design release evidence. He reports the results to the project manager and advises about the achieved quality and functionality with respect to system release.
Besides the project focus, the V&V lead defines a longer term test strategy, defines test improvements and gives input to the regulatory strategy discussions.
Responsibilities
Project related (scope is project, not domain or program) and is responsible for:
- Build complete design release evidence
- Provide product quality insight during the complete project lifecycle
- Realize risk based integration and test strategy and resource plan.
- System release (including regulatory submission of SW medical devices).
- Cover the right part of V-model; counterpart of the system designer, who covers left part of V-model.
Department related:
- Pro-active contributions to Design Integration, Verification, Validation and Release process improvements, efficiency & effectiveness improvements.
- Contributes to regulatory strategy discussions for new products on the roadmap

Profile
Know-how & Skills:
- Master degree (preferably in informatics/electronics) or achieve comparable level
- ISEB/ISTQB Practitioner level knowledge of Test Engineering profession
- Thorough understanding of FDA working procedures and conformities
- Detailed understanding of Risk Analysis, Test Design and Test Techniques & Methods
- Good knowledge of automated testing and test tools
- Good knowledge of Risk management
- Extensive knowledge on Configuration management, integration and test processes, Strategies & Techniques.
- Knowledge of the Cardio / Vascular Medical Domain
Experience:
- A number of years (>10) in development and testing is required.
- Good view on business goals and several stakeholders interests.
- Experience in development/releases of SW medical devices
- Good view on all other roles within the whole development and release cycle.
- Experience with agile/scrum development
Personal skills- Conceptual, analytical and creative thinker.
- Be able to balance stakeholders interests (in determining best approach in testing for product/project).
- Quality conscious. Be able to think from customer expectation perspective.
- Result driven. Takes personal ownership for deliverables in terms of content, quality and time.
