The assignment is in Belgium at Flanders Make, site Leuven.
Flanders Make is the strategic research centre for the manufacturing industry. The mission of the centre is to strengthen the long-term international competitiveness of the Flemish manufacturing industry by performing industry-driven, pre-competitive, excellent research in the technological domains of mechatronics, product development methods and advanced manufacturing technologies.
This research will result in applications for machines, vehicles, vehicle components and high-tech production systems at the participating companies.
To achieve this mission, Flanders Make conducts industry-driven joint projects and contract research assignments in the following research programs: Clean Energy-efficient Motion Systems, Smart Monitoring Systems, Autonomous Systems, Intelligent Product Design Methods, Design & Manufacturing of Smart and Lightweight Structures, Additive Manufacturing for Serial Production, Manufacturing for High Precision Components, Agile & Human-centered Production & Robotics Systems.
Function
Machines of the future are autonomous. They adapt their behavior to the context and environment, they interact with the user and become more intelligent.
In these state of the art research projects your tasks as control engineer are:
- analysis and system identification of mechatronic systems of the future;
- development of the control algorithms;
- validation on machines from companies in the labs and ultimately validation on machines from companies in real live;
- presentation of the results of the research to the companies and on seminars and conferences.
- You will work in a team and report to the site manager.
Profile
- Master's degree or PhD in Engineering (Control, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics,..) with a deep knowledge in control algorithms;
- Track record in research is a plus;
- Experience with Matlab and Simulink; experience with dSpace is a plus;
- Focus on technology and results for the industrial companies;
