Phenospex was founded by G. Hummel and Uladzimir Zhokhavets. G. Hummel is plant ecophysiologist and did his PhD at the Research Center in Jülich with expertise in plant growth and underlying signaling. Uladzimir Zhokhavets is physicist and specialized in optics and semi conductor. He was working at PHILLIPS Research in Aachen before founding Phenospex in 2009. Right now, we are a mixed team of 10 persons with an interdisciplinary background from biology, physics, computer science and engineering.

Phenospex is a young and multicultural biotechnology company located at the Maastricht-Aachen area. We develop and produce hardware and software for automated plant screening and plant phenotyping. We operate globally and our customers are plant breeders, crop protection- and fertilizer industry and scientists. Our technologies and know-how help to find new products and plant varieties to ensure a sustainable food supply.
  
Job description 
As a senior software engineer you will participate in the design and programming of the software controlling the scientific equipment that we develop, and high-level analysis and statistical tools. You will work with a high degree of independence and responsibility.

Education 
Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or similar.
  
Experience

• At least 5 years of experience in software design and development.
• Design of low-level (embedded) and high-level software.
• Good C++ and general programming skills.
• Relational databases.
• GNU/Linux system administration.

• Salary: 50.000-65.000€
• Relocation package.
• 30 vacation days (+ public holidays).
• Time flexibility.
