Cloud Operations Engineer/Cloud Service Administrator (m/f) Job Description
As a Cloud Service Operations Engineer (CSOE) (m/f), you will be part of a larger, global operations team and be responsible for defining and implementing operational procedures for internal and customer facing production infrastructure and applications. Not only will you act as owners of all aspects of service operations – from availability to security to service level compliance – but as consultants to development, quality assurance and security, and program management disciplines. Within a team of CSOE's, you will be held accountable for service availability and performance towards our internal and external customers. You will also provide support to our internal infrastructure team as needed.
Cloud Operations Engineer/Cloud Service Administrator (m/f) Job Requirements
The ideal candidate should have a solid technical background with relevant software development and systems administration experience. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshoot, support and maintain Cloud infrastructure and Cloud management capabilities globally
- Determine appropriate monitoring configurations and monitor service quality parameters
- Automate monitoring and response actions
- Investigate operations issues and perform post-mortem and live analysis of operations incidents
- Understand deployment and usage scenarios for customer facing services and make appropriate decisions based on risk trade-offs
- Take a methodical approach to troubleshooting and analysis and interface with support and development when necessary
- Act as the advocate of operations for product management and development
- Propose and/or design technical solutions, which include creating prototypes and proofs of concept while maintaining a DevOps mindset
- Assist in the planning, design, documentation and implementation of various systems to include desktop PC's, servers, network equipment, and software applications
- Support the monitoring of and maintaining network security and server performance, reliability and redundancy
- Help with maintaining network and application security on all desktops, servers and network appliances
- Provide top-tier support for AvePoint staff in multiple offices including emergency on-call support
Your qualifications:- BA/BS Degree (Computer Science/Engineering majors preferred) or equivalent educational background preferred with 5+ years of work experience
- Experience with Cloud Services such as Office 365 or Amazon Web Services is a plus
- Intimate knowledge of software integration using Microsoft Windows Server technologies
- Working knowledge of programming and scripting languages relevant in Windows-based environment
- Experience with TCP/IP, DNS, Active Directory, SMTP, and DHCP technologies as well as in performing production updates in a 24/7 environment
- Strive to achieve operational excellence through automation and continuous improvement
- Sharing and documenting knowledge and procedures
- Providing a high level of customer service ability
- Excellent knowledge of English required; German is a plus
- Willingness to work in a high urgency, high stakes environment; perform well under pressure and work methodically in critical situations
- Ability to work individually and within a highly collaborative team setting
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast paced environment
- Familiarity with Azure compute, storage, management is a plus
