Technical Operations Manager Job Description

Job Description:
You provide guidance and leadership to company staff on all (technical) production issues. You will need to be able to manage and apply software, firmware, and hardware solutions that work in a structural advantageous manner for the company. Additionally, you will be able to troubleshoot technical emergencies in an immediate fashion. You need a solid research and business foundation to make decisions that are financially sound and provide value to the company’s bottom line. That means creating budgets and schedules, strategic planning and goal setting, project coordination, cost benefit analysis, and return of investment comparisons.
What makes this career different from other operations management career options is that you must be able to handle lots of different people. You will communicate with individuals at many different levels from within and from outside of the company.  Often this is difficult for those in the technical field since it can be difficult to communicate technical aspects to non-techies. this position has unique communication and business needs.
 
Key Tasks

• Direct and coordinate activities concerned with the production, purchase pricing, sales and distribution of products
• Manage staff, preparing work duties and assigning specific duties
• Review financial statements, sales and activity reports and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement and to determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
• Oversee activities directly related to making products and providing services
• Manage the movement of goods into and out of production facilities
• Control financial and budget activities to fund operations, maximize investments and increase efficiency.

Technical Operations Manager Job Requirements

Requirements
 

• Education at HBO/TU level
• At least 10 years work experience in a comparable position
• Fluent Dutch and English
• Background preferably in robotics and/or automated processing 

• €4500,-- per month incl. 13th month
