Critical, All-Round Software Test Engineer Job Description

Uniface is extending its technology offerings to include mobile solutions and an all-new Integrated Development Environment (IDE).
We are therefore looking for an experienced Software Test Engineer for our QA team.
We are not looking for an average test engineer. We are looking for someone with a passion for quality and development, someone who is able to coordinate, develop, program the tests themselves, and execute testing scenarios. You will work in one of the multi-disciplinary scrum teams where it’s your responsibility to guard the quality of the deliverables made in your team.
You are a positive and assertive team player who wants to go the distance with a strong desire to succeed in a technically-challenging, team- and customer-oriented environment.
 
What you are going to do

As a Software Test Engineer you are the guard of the quality of the deliverables in your multi-disciplinary Scrum team. You will initiate, lead, develop and execute all the test necessary. Your drive to gain a good understanding of Uniface, your technical skills and your ability to see the big picture, is crucial in the creation of the next generation Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Uniface.
 
Your primary roles and responsibilities

• Participate in user story analysis, estimation and (test) design.
• Take the lead in defining and delivering test coverage for the user stories delivered by your Scrum team.
• Safeguard the quality of the work delivered by the user stories.
• Design, develop and maintain automated tests.

Critical, All-Round Software Test Engineer Job Requirements

 Your skills and competencies

• Bachelor or higher degree in computer science.
• +3 years’ experience as Software Test Engineer in a full Software Development lifecycle.
• +2 years of test automation and programming test automation experience.
• You have a good understanding of Software Test methodologies (ideally Tmap/ISTQB certified).
• Experience with development tools (IDEs).
• Highly analytical with a critical mindset
• Good communication skills in English.
