Project CAD Designer Job Description

As Project CAD Designer, you are the primary contact between Engineering and CAD Design in order to set up, industrialize and coordinate the development of roof systems. You will lead CAD Designers within a project team to perform their tasks within the budget, against the agreed quality level and within the given time frame. Our CAD department supports our cross functional, customer focused development teams, who will take projects through the whole product development cycle, from initial concept through to full production at one of our assembly plants. In this position, you will report directly to the CAD Design Leader.

• Create and maintain the CAD structure;
• Coordinate and organize CAD activities for customers and suppliers in order to realize an optimal product;
• Perform technical DMU checks, calculations and evaluations to verify the realization of the system;
• Contribute to investigations on current systems or future concepts;
• Contribute to the analysis of the realized designs and concepts in respect to production methods, DFA, SPA
  and Q-Checker;
• Create the first setups for the serial production and assure that the complete product documentation is created;
• Support your engineering, purchasing and sales colleagues (internal as well as external).

Project CAD Designer Job Requirements

• You have a finished degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering on a BsC level.
• At least 3 years experience as CAD Designer. Automotive experience is a plus but not always necessary.
• We do expect you to have knowledge of CAD equipment and programs (CATIA V5, SmarTeam and DXM).
• As a professional you have good analytical and organizational skills and you are stress resistant. In your work you focus on results and you are able to manage your planning and set priorities.
• As the automotive industry is focused on Quality you are as well.
• It is important to have good communication skills in English. Dutch, German and French are a plus.
