Technical Safety Engineer Job Description
Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Authorities:
The Technical Safety Engineer will be a part of the Quality Health Safety Environment (QHSE) department in Hoofddorp, reporting to the QHSE Manager. He/she will be accountable for technical safety matters and act as an advisor on matters affecting technical safety and compliance.
The Technical Safety Engineer tasks are:
- Provides specialist advice on matters affecting verification and technical safety.
- Provides support by inputting to HAZOP’s, HAZIDs or other Safety Reviews as directed in the Oil & Gas Industry.
- Carries out safety & environmental studies and produces technical reports.
- Supports Safety & Environmental Case Thorough Review process where required.
- Carries out routine offshore visits and performs safety and technical verification
- Ensures that the Written Scheme of Verification is established, implemented and maintained in accordance with the company policies and legislation.
- Assists in the implementation of conformance to new legislative requirements and industry standards.
The Technical Safety Engineer reports to the:- QHSE Manager
Technical Safety Engineer Job Requirements
- Strong technical background preferably in the offshore/marine sector.
- 1-3 years experience as QHSE engineer or System/Operations engineer preferably in the Oil & Gas
- Preferably worked with Quality/Safety Management Systems (Such as ISO9001, OHSAS18001, VCA, ISO14001)
- Bachelor degree in Engineering, preferably NEBOSH certified (e.g. HTS MAROFF-AOT or equivalent)
- Good communication / reporting skills
- Self-confident & good social abilities
- Fluent English both verbal and writing
- Hands-on and pro-active attitude
- Must be computer literate with ability to produce detailed reports and presentations.
- Good planning and organization skills
- Be prepared to travel and to visit our offshore units on frequent basis
- Has the ability to conduct hazids
