(Junior) System Engineer (m/f) Job Description

Context

SES Platform Services is a subsidiary of SES and operates one of Europe’s most modern broadcasting centres. SES Platform Services provides technical support for broadcasters and production companies and offers a comprehensive range of services for the preparation and transmission of content for TV and radio channels. These include both digital archiving and playout, as well as preparation and transmission of content via satellite, over the internet or to mobile reception units. Today, SES Platform Services broadcasts some 300 digital TV and radio programmes and also offers interactive and data services. As Germany’s first playout centre, SES Platform Services also provides a complete HDTV playout service for HD channels.

Responsibilities
 

• Development of technical concepts and project management at implementation of innovative features for digital receivers; also satellite reception and especially technical solutions in the field of Internet-streaming of Media-content, Web-TV and OTT.
• Organisation and supervision of projects in cooperation with manufacturers of digital receiving devices and integrated TV-devices and also technical service-providers.
• Requierements analysis and description of solutions in terms of technical specifications.

Experiences/Qualifications
 

• University degree in Media & IT/-technology, Multimedia Engineering, or equivalent professional training
• Student activity in the field of digital television technology
• Very good command of written and spoken English and German
• Excellent communication skills and strong customer orientation
• High presentation skills (German and English)
• Well-organised and solutions oriented approach to work
• Team spirit and assertiveness
