Contract Manager Job Description
In this role you will execute contract implementation as to maximize contract compliance, improve supplier performance and provide input to future sourcing initiatives.
Key Areas of responsibility:
1 Contract manager executes contract implementation:
- Responsible for execution of the implementation plan (set up by Buyer/Category Manager) on site including communication with business partners
- Monitoring of and communication about contract usage
- Proactively track and report contract key performance indicators
- Propose and implement corrective actions and contract improvements or new contracts to Category manager/Buyer
- Provide input to Category Manager/Buyer for future sourcing initiatives from lessons learned
- Work in close collaboration with Category managers/ Buyers and Internal stakeholders in order to ensure fit for use and acceptance of contracts
- Managing of contract terms (contract performance and non-performance) and escalate to CAM/buyer when necessary
- Monitoring contract expiration
- Maximizing opportunities for the contracts at the sites
- Managing penalty/reward within contract, signaling on rebates/ turnover bonus in contracts to CAM/Buyer and internal business partner
2. Manage relationship/partnership with suppliers and track their performance: - Continuously track supplier performance in accordance with agreements and Supplier Development Program.
- Consolidate findings of supplier performance in alignment with internal business partners and report to Category manager/ Buyers as input for the cross-functional review meetings with the suppliers.
- Identify and propose supplier performance improvements to Category Manager/Buyer
- Implement supplier Performance activities as defined in the (cross functional) review meetings with suppliers in order to improve performance and further reduce cost
- Validate complaints escalated by Purchasing Shared Service Center and coordinate complaint handling process
- Translate complaint data from Purchasing Shared Service Center to input for supplier performance measurement and performance improvement recommendation
- Act as a point of contact for the supplier regarding contractual issues
3. Streamlining and optimizing contract compliance and spend allocation: - ​Ensure spend optimization: analyze Business Warehouse spend reports to increase contract compliance and to ensure that spend is allocated to the right supplier (leverage).
- Interface role towards Purchasing Shared Service Center: COM monitors the Sourcing Cockpit to ensure right spend allocation
- Act as point of contact for customers and suppliers regarding all contract related issues (managing requests to preferred suppliers) and act in specific cases as content-expert for our internal customers. Coordinate and manage the year order process
4. Other: - During a Sourcing project, the contract manager can/should be (early) involved in the strategic Sourcing process as a member of the cross functional Sourcing team representing the customer
- Periodically purchasing forecasts from stakeholders to align demand of supply
- Ensure purchasing transactions (one-off’s & orders without a contract) and requisitioning for customer are executed according to policy by Purchasing assistant / operations
- Ensure right use of purchasing channels
Contract Manager Job Requirements
Education
- Bachelor or master in business administration, commerce, engineering or other relevant discipline.
- Recognized qualification in Purchasing (e.g.NEVI)
- Purchasing processes (sourcing and operational) in business-to-business context
- Understanding and knowledge of region business needs
Level of Experience: - Experience (at least 2/3 yrs) in purchasing, business intelligence or marketing & sales.
Competencies - Being proactive, self-starter, and ability to connect, engage & influence people
- Ability to change, ensure early involvement and being seen as point of contact for purchasing
