Position Purpose
The positionholder provides supervision over the mechanical maintenance service of the total plant area. The MSI gives direction, sets priorities and is fully responsible for all operational mechanical maintenance activities, focussing on plant reliability, cost management, continuous improvement and people development while not compromising on safety, food safety and quality.
Principal Accountabilities
Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory (10%)
Responsible for food safe maintenance by respecting Quality standards and good housekeeping rules.
Environment, Health & Safety (15%)
Responsible for risk control in maintenance workshop and at work in the field by implementing EH&S standards to prevent personal accidents, property damage and environmental incidents (zero defects). Ensure department is in compliance with legal, local and corporate guidelines. Identify structural problems and organise support.
Reliability (25%)
Accountable for follow up on predictive & preventive maintenance schedules and high quality maintenance work to ensure that the production installations run reliably. Identify structural problems and organise support.
Cost Management (20%)
Responsible for cost control in the widest sence; manpower, materials/services cost and cost of non conformance.
Continuous Improvement (15%)
Responsible for identifying, removing non-value added activities and initiating value adding activities.
Actively participate in & support of continuous improvement program.
People Development (15%)
Responsible for talent management of direct reports and for own development, using PMP as a tool.
Supporting/advising HR on succession planning and training programs.
