Compounding Technology Engineer at SABIC Job Description

Department
SABIC Innovative Plastics produces a large variety of compounded products that includes products made via large throughput operations, but also High Performance products (HPP) that are widely used in automotive, healthcare, consumer electronics, transportation, building and construction and telecommunications.

The Global Compounding Technology team is part of the HPP Process Technology team. Mission of the team is to develop world class compounding process technology expertise, partnerships and capabilities in order to accelerate the growth of High Performance products and improve the cost position of Core products.

To achieve its goals the team interacts closely with Compounding Asset leaders, Formulation & Compounding Mixing science and Business Continuity teams.

To strengthen our European team in Bergen op Zoom, we are looking for a fulltime Compounding Technology Engineer.

Compounding Technology Engineer

The Challenge

• Lead Compounding Technology projects which accelerate the growth of High Performance products and improve the cost position of Core products
• Interact closely with the Compounding Asset leaders, Formulation & Compounding Mixing science and the Business Continuity teams.
• Identify, develop and implement new – game changing – compounding technologies
• Provide technology support to the business continuity team and manufacturing as needed to help troubleshoot and optimize performance.
• Establish and grow global compounding technology competencies and develop fundamental understanding of our processes. Accelerate in-company compounding knowledge via training programs and external collaborations.
• Build relationship with key suppliers of compounding equipment and monitor industrial developments.
• Ensure effective interaction and communication across functions.

Compounding Technology Engineer at SABIC Job Requirements

Your Profile

• PhD or M.S. in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, degree with Polymer Processing background.
• 5 years + relevant experience with design and/or operation of compounding process equipment.
• Demonstrated technology excellence with proven ability of project management and coordination.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills, German is a preference.
• A high-energy and result-oriented personality with the ability to identify and lead innovative opportunities.
• Team player being able to drive cross-functional and global teams.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Willingness to travel (approximately 2/3 days per month, mostly to Germany)
