You will be operating within our Process Technology ECG, one of four Expert Capability Groups whose role is to create new technological opportunities for breakthrough innovations. (Senior) Researcher Process Technology
Within the Process Technology ECG we focus on creating breakthrough processes and technologies, optimizing existing processes and defining scale-up rules. With excellent modeling tools for creating insight from nano scale to plant scale and with state-of-the-art laboratory and pilot facilities, you will have all the essentials to transform initial concepts into practical solutions for AkzoNobel and our customers. Working within an inter-disciplinary, business-led team, your principal role will be to deliver cost-effective solutions on time, on target and on budget. You will join a multinational and multicultural company that is committed to your personal and professional development.
Achieving success through modeling and simulation
We will look to you to explore alternative and novel technologies, together with process concepts by means of modeling and simulation. You will deliver conceptual designs and simulation supported process innovation, development and optimization. Simulations will be based on and validated by experimental results gathered by your colleagues or yourself.
Use your creative power, think out of the box and look beyond the horizon to identify and develop the most appropriate technology to meet the objectives of your projects.
Candidate profile
Applicants for this position must meet the following criteria:
• be educated as PhD (or equivalent) in Chemical Engineering/Process Technology and have relevant experience;
• have a broad knowledge of and experience in AspenPlus or a similar flow sheeting platform;
• preferably, have thorough insight in separation technology and physical properties;
• have a passion for research combined with a drive to bring the developed technology into our plants;
• have the people and communication skills necessary to carry out and lead projects while working collaboratively across boundaries;
• have the ability to think differently and a continuous drive to improve him or herself.
